The movement towards Integrating technology into fitness & wellness is now mainstream. Whether you love it or are indifferent, it’s here to stay. Typically, I am very low tech when it comes to my work outs and I believe that technology can never replace the actual work needed to stay in shape. However, with this being said- there are times where the technology can help be a motivator.

For this particular reason, I do have a fitness watch because I like keeping track of my mileage, calories, burned, etc. Monitoring my progress on a fitness watch gives me that external motivation. There are many different types of fitness watches on the market today.  Below are 5 different types of watches that have a myriad of features. I hope you find one to your liking and appeals to you based on your current needs.

Polar Vantage M

This is a great watch if you are a very serious athlete and need details on your fitness activity.

The Polar Vantage M has very involved metrics.  This includes HR monitoring for over 130 sports and the ability to track cardio load and perceived load.  Wear while you sleep to get insights into whether or not you are overtraining.

The functionality makes this almost seem like a personal Coach. There is a nightly recharge that gives you information on how to train, improve your sleep and boost your energy.

The battery on this watch lasts up to 30 hours, it is touchscreen and also waterproof!  The large face makes it easier to see the numbers. You are able to select from 1 of 5 colors on the watchband and you can buy other bands separately. Overall, this looks like a great watch for someone who doesn’t mind spending the extra cash and needs the involved metrics.

Amazfit Band 5 Fitness Tracker

If you are looking for a quality fitness watch on a budget then this is the best option for you.  Affordable, but yet effective in tracking your exercise.  I was amazed at all the functionality of this AmazFit Band fitness watch- especially for the price.

If Alexa is your friend, you can take her everywhere with you now. Alexa is built into this watch for you to ask questions, set alarms, and even control your smart home devices.

Long battery life:  No more lugging your charger with you while you’re on vacation. The battery life on this watch is 15 days.

Blood oxygen saturation monitor: Measures your blood oxygen saturation and helps you understand your physical state.  This helps with high intensity workouts like marathons and gym workouts.

Also equipped with a sleep tracker- a sensor detects your heart rate and can interpret your sleep patterns to ensure you’re getting the best night’s sleep possible.

Finally, the 11 sports modes provides the ability for you to record the distance, speed, calories burned, and heart rate to name a few.  There is even a tracker & notifications for your menstrual cycle.

Fitbit Sense

This is a more expensive watch- but has all the bells and whistles to be your electronic fitness assistant.  There’s a built in GPS that’s perfect to use during your hikes, runs or rides to see your pace and distance. With the built in mic and speaker you can take Bluetooth calls hands free (when your phone is nearby)

With the Fitbit Sense Advanced Smartwatch, you can assess your heart beat if there are any irregularities and then easily share with your doctor.  There is a sensor built in to track your skin temperature to see how it varies as well as an EDA scan to help monitor stress levels.  This Fitbit can also detect your blood oxygen levels.

The battery lasts 6 days or so; but does charge fully within 12 minutes. There is Google Assist or Amazon on the watch to set reminders, alarms or even control your smart home devices.

Garmin Fenix 6s Pro

This is one of the best fitness watches for women. It is appropriate for both casual and competitive running. It tracks and keeps your running distance, pace, time, and cadence. Additionally, the Garmin Fenix 6s can track your daily activity, including the volume of oxygen your body needs for successful daily exercise. What I think is really unique about this watch is that comes equipped with TOPO maps- ski maps for 2,000 ski resorts around the world.  With a third party subscription, you can get streaming music.

The battery can last up to 9 hours before the next charge. Enjoy your tunes effortlessly; this watch comes with Bluetooth ear buds as well.

Samsung Smart Watch

The Samsung Smart Watch has a beautiful design, is functional, and well-priced.  This watch is round which gives it a feminine and stylish look. The large touch screen makes it easy to see the numbers.  You can also customize your watch face with over 100 to choose from.

With the heart rate monitor, sleep analysis which records level of sleep and your patterns, and the blood oxygen saturation, you can steadily improve your fitness.

The 8 Built in sports modes which records your daily steps, distance, calories burned and the minutes that you are active provides you with the all the important fitness details you need.

You’re able to connect the watch to your phones APP to get phone call notifications, and SMS messages.  The battery life is 14 days and works with iOS 10.0 and Android 5.0 or higher.

Best Fitness Watches for Women Summary

You may be like me and low tech as well, but see the value in having a fitness watch.  If you don’t have a personal trainer, a watch like these could be almost just as good.  If you like to always improve your numbers and/or trying to lose weight, then a fitness watch could be the motivation you need.

Do you have any of these?  Others you’d recommend instead? Would love to hear your thoughts-thanks for leaving a comment below.
